In 1991, Dr. Roy Rubinfeld became the first D.C.-area eye surgeon involved in laser vision correction. Dr. Rubinfeld began his research in Europe on improved, safer, more patient-friendly treatments for keratoconus in 2008. Since then, he has lectured frequently on this topic internationally and across the United States. He and his teams invented, developed, and patented EpiSmart® epithelium-on CXL with over a dozen U.S. and international patents. The New York-native was selected for and served as the Chief Resident in Ophthalmology at Georgetown University Medical Center before completing a fellowship in Corneal Diseases and Surgery at the world-renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. After completing his education in 1987, Dr. Rubinfeld joined Washington Eye Physicians & Surgeons as a corneal specialist. In 2006, he founded and became Medical Director of the Vision Correction Center there. In 2013, he opened his advanced specialty practice, Re:Vision, where he currently specializes in advanced treatments for keratoconus and LASIK. Dr. Rubinfeld enjoys writing research papers, book chapters, and training other doctors in new vision correction techniques. He also loves traveling, yoga, music and photography, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and son-in-law.

Deborah Kim, OD

Optometrist

Dr. Deborah Kim is an expert optometrist whose greatest delight is seeing patients achieve their highest potential for vision through LASIK or CXL.

After studying psychology and natural sciences at the University of Southern California, she pursued her doctorate at the University of Houston College of Optometry, graduating with honors. During her last year of optometry school, Dr. Kim was chosen for a selective training program in post-operative cataract and glaucoma laser treatments for Native American populations in Oklahoma. Prior to joining Re:Vision, Dr. Kim worked as an optometrist in D.C. and northern Virginia.

Dr. Kim and her husband are fans of USC and Washington football. Practicing yoga, cooking foreign cuisine, and serving in overseas missions fill her free time.

Jenny Turner

Practice Manager

Jenny Turner grew up in Woodbridge and is a life-long resident of northern Virginia.

She pursued her education at George Mason University. Her first career path was teaching 3-year-old preschoolers, which gave her the opportunity to enrich the lives of her students and their parents. After marrying her husband Kyle in 2003, Jenny was introduced to her current career in eye care by her mother-in-law, and she’s never looked back.

She took her leadership skills and passion for education into Re:Vision’s practice, where she provides skilled management and thoughtful patient education.

Jenny enjoys baking and spending her spare time outdoors with her husband and their two children. A soccer player and referee for 20 years, she still loves watching the sport.

Cameron LoMonaco

Technician

Born and raised in northern Virginia, Cameron headed south to study at Christopher Newport University. After graduating in 2018 with a degree in leadership studies and cross-cultural leadership, she joined the eye care industry to pursue a career in office administration. She quickly discovered a passion for eye health and the clinical side of eye care.

She joined the Re:Vision team to expand her knowledge within ophthalmology. She loves learning more every day from Dr. Rubinfeld, Dr. Kim, and patients and their concerns as she helps save keratoconus patients’ vision and achieve visual freedom with laser vision correction.

When she’s not in the office, Cameron loves traveling, cooking (and eating), and showing her little girl all things Disney.
